    How to Properly Create a Facebook Fan Page for Your Business

    In this post, I will show you the step-by-step on how to create and set-up a Facebook Fan page for your business. But first, let us ask why you need one.

    Why Have a Facebook Business Page?

    As of writing, Facebook has over 2.19 billion monthly active users worldwide, so no serious Business out there will not have their own Facebook Business Page to get more market reach.  

    For your AIM Global business, you will use Facebook Business Page to post all marketing campaigns that include your Affiliate Links so you can earn sales commissions (and recruit downlines if you are already a Distributor member) —even without paying for Facebook Ads until you are ready. 

    The real idea of having a Facebook Business Page is to allow you to build a growing number of followers including those who are not in your Facebook friends list. Having your followers grow in huge number and in one place it’s much easier for you to launch laser targeted marketing campaigns, like posting your Affiliate Links, therefore you can expect better conversions or profit.

    Creating a Facebook Business Page is free and it’s really easy to do.

    So let’s get started…

    Step 1: Prepare Your Profile Picture

    Your Facebook Page will need you to upload your Profile Picture. The Profile Picture is going to be shown in public and identifies you as the Page administrator or the author when you are commenting.

    So have a picture of you ready to be uploaded from your computer.

    The ideal Facebook profile photo size is 360 x 360 pixels.

    For your AIMGLOBAL business, I suggest that your Profile Picture should project you as competent, likable and  influential. To test how your Profile Picture will come across to people you can use Photofeeler.

    Step 2: Prepare Your Cover Video or Photo

    Your Facebook Page will also need you to upload a Cover Video or Photo. Usually you show here what your Page is all about.

    So have a Cover Video or Photo ready to be uploaded from your computer.

    For a Cover Photo, optimize it to the right dimensions: 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall for desktop, 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall for mobile. If your uploaded image is smaller than these dimensions, Facebook will stretch it to fit — making it look blurry.

    WHERE TO GET FREE IMAGES?

    You can get free images from https://pixabay.com
    Just make sure that you will choose images that can be used for commercial use and requires no attribution.

    For a Cover Video, Facebook currently supports videos that are between 20 and 90 seconds long, and a minimum of 820 pixels wide by 320 pixels tall.

    Step 3: Create Your Facebook Fan Page

    Here are the detailed steps to creating a Facebook Fan Page:

    1. Login to your Facebook account.
    2. Click on the “Create” button.
    3. Select “Page” option.
    4. Choose the “Business or Brand” type by clicking its “Get Started” button.
    5. Type-in the Page Name for your business.
      For your AIMGLOBAL business I strongly suggest the following format:
      AIM Global, City Name, Country Name.
      So for example, if your targeting the people of Lagos City in Nigeria, you should type-in
      “AIM Global, Lagos City, Nigeria”.
      For my case, I typed-in “AIM Global, Salt Lake City, USA”.
    6. Under the Category field, type-in the industry of your business.
      For your AIMGLOBAL business I strongly suggest that you put “Vitamins/Supplements“.
    7. Click the “Continue” button.
    8. Click the “Skip” button for now because you  will upload the Profile Picture in the following steps so you can also learn how to change it.
    9. Click the “Skip” button because you will upload the Cover Video or Photo in the following steps so you can also learn how to change it.

    Step 4: Change Your Profile Photo

    Here’s how you can change your current profile photo:

    1. Hover your mouse on the current Profile Photo  of your Fan Page so you can click the “Update” button.
    2. Click the “Upload Photo” option.
    3.  Your computer’s file explorer will launch. Locate and click the photo that you want to upload.
    4. Click the “Open” button.
    5. An image editor will open. Use the slider to adjust the size of your photo.
    6. Drag your photo to reposition.
    7. Click the “Save” button.

    Step 5: Change Your Cover Photo or Video

    Here’s how you can change your Fan Page cover photo or video:

    1. Hover your mouse to the current Cover Photo or Video of your Fan Page so you can click the “Add a Cover” or “Change Cover” button.
    2. Click the “Upload Photo/Video” option.
    3. Your computer’s file explorer will launch. Locate and click the photo or video that you want to upload.
    4. Click the “Open” button.
    5. An image editor will open. Drag the photo or video to reposition.
    6. Click the “Save” button.

    Step 6: Assign a Page Username

    To make it easier for people to find your fan page, you would need to assign it a username.

    1. Just under your profile photo, click the “Create Page @username” link.
    2. In the Username field, type-in a username for your fan page. Allowed characters only include alpha numeric and a dot symbol. For your AIM Global business I suggest that your fan page username is something like this: “aimglobal.cityname”. For example, since I am targeting Salt Lake City, my fan page username is “aimglobal-saltlake”.
    3. Click the “Create Username” button.
    4. On the success message, click the “OK” button.

    Step 7: Add a Call to Action Button

    The Call to Action button sits prominently just at the bottom of your Fan Page cover photo or video. So it’s a good opportunity to get clicks to your affiliate link through this button.

    Here’s how to add your call to action button:

    1. Just below your cover photo or video, click the “Add a Button” button.
    2. Click the “Learn more about your business” option.
    3. Click the “Watch Video” or “Learn More” option.
    4. Click the “Next” button.
    5. Click the “Website Link” option.
    6. In the text field, type-in your shortened affiliate link.
    7. Click the “Save” button.
    8. Click the “Finish” button.

    Step 8: Update Your Fan Page Information

    To better your chances of getting more traffic to your Fan Page, you would need to let visitors know what is your Fan Page is all about. Also, Facebook uses your Fan Page Information to recommend to Facebook users who shares the same interest.

    1. Just above your Cover Photo or Video, click the “Settings” link.
    2. Click the “Page Info” option.

    Write Your Description

    Under the Description field you type-in some text to describe your page.

    Don’t forget to hit the “Save” button when done.

    Add 2 More Categories

    Under the Categories section you are allowed to have a total of 3 categories.

    Don’t forget to hit the “Save” button when done.

    For your AIM Global business, I suggest you add the categories: “Medical & Health” and “Entrepreneur”.

    Type-in Your Phone Number

    Under the Phone Number section, put your own contact number.

    Under the Website section, put your website address URL.

    For your AIM Global business, you can put here your shortened Affiliate Link URL, preferably pointing to the main capture page.

    Type-in Your Email

    Under the Email section, put your email address. Make sure it’s your main email address -the one you always open everyday.

    Or you can use sales@aimglobalproducts.com if you don’t check your email everyday.

    Don’t forget to hit the “Save” button when done.

    To actually join under AIM Tycoons group, you would need to only use the Placement Information provided to you by an AIM Tycoons member when you register yourself as an AIM Global Distributor in the DTC (Distributor Tracking Center) website. So make sure that the Placement Information will only come from an AIM Tycoons member. You do this by only requesting it from the methods provided below.

    What is Placement Information?
    To be a Distributor you will need the following information to register yourself online via the Distributor Tracking Center (DTC) website:
    1. Sponsor ID (it’s free from AIM Tycoons)
    2. Upline ID (it’s free from AIM Tycoons)
    3. Placement Position (it’s free from AIM Tycoons)
    4. User ID and PIN (from your Global Package) 
    For convenience; these Sponsor ID, Upline ID and Placement Position; can be all collectively called “Placement Information.”
    Going for 7 Heads?
    If you are going for multiple Heads, you only need to use the Placement Information provided to you by AIM Tycoons in your 1st Head. Since your 1st Head becomes under AIM Tycoons group, you can use it as Sponsor or Upline for your other following Heads. This topic is further explained when you get to STEP 5.
    Also, please do not confuse Heads as Recruits. Heads are pertaining to your own accounts, while Recruits are your downlines who have their own accounts.

    Requesting Placement Information from AIM Tycoons:

    WARNING!!
    Before lodging your request, make sure that at least you are ready to purchase a Global Package within 72 hours, otherwise the Placement Information will become invalid.

    Once you have already purchased your Global Package or Global Packages, you can choose to lodge your request in 2 ways:

    After lodging your request, you should be able to get a response within 24 hours.

    How to get Your User ID and Security PIN

    Included inside your Global Package is a scratch card that will reveal your User ID and security PIN.

    SMART TIP! 
    You may want to request all the User ID’s and security PIN’s emailed  or sent to you straight away by the Officer In Charge than waiting until your Global Packages get delivered to you. That way, you can already proceed to STEP 4 immediately.

    Please note:

    1. Every Global Package will have its own scratch card. Scratch cards will each have their own unique sets of  User ID and PIN.
    2. Each Global Package represents a single Distributor account, and as stated in the previous post, you can have multiple Distributor accounts (or multiple Heads as they call it) under your own name depending on the type of Global Package that you will purchase. For example, you are allowed to have 7 Heads for Megapack Global Packages –or up to 15 Heads for Associate Global Packages.
    3. The User ID is actually your AIM Global Distributor member ID. If you have multiple Heads, it is your first (1st) Head’s ID as your official member ID. 
    4. For you first Head, the User ID and PIN alone are not sufficient enough to complete your online registration as an AIM Global Distributor because you also need to have: Sponsor ID, Upline ID and placement Position. Collectively we will call them as Placement Information. Don’t worry this Placement Information is just a designation to which group you will be under to. And as you may already know, you would want to belong under AIM Tycoon group therefore you would want to request this information only from them by filling out their online request form –which was covered in STEP 1.

    To become an AIM Global Distributor you need to own at least 1 Global Package.

    What is a Global Package?

    A Global Package is a bundle of AIM Global products and benefits. It entitles you to register yourself as an AIM Global Distributor. 

    Depending on which country you are, there are 2 types of a Global Package, namely: an Associate Global Package, and a Megapack Global Package. An Associate Package is a lot cheaper than a Megapack Global Package; but also has less potential income in terms of the maximum amount it is allowed to earn in a day (an earnings cap). Earnings Cap is necessary to ensure that the company will also earn, ensuring the longevity of the whole business (including yours).

    Why Buy a Global Package?

    2. In the form field, paste your Affiliate Link. You do this by right-click and choosing “Paste“.
    3. Scroll page to the right to find and click the “Debug” button
    4. Click the “Fetch new information” button, and it should show the featured image when you scroll down the page.
    5. Is the featured image not showing? Don’t worry, just click the “Scrape Again” button.

    Your default Affiliate Link URL[URL meaning], as discussed in the previous lesson, consist of 2 parts. Being as it is, can be a long line of text characters. However, it can be shortened (while preserving the purpose) as illustrated below:

    In actual fact, a shortened URL is just a “forwarder” that forwards people to the intended web address –which is in this case is your Affiliate Link URL.

    Why Shorten Your Affiliate Links?

    There are 4 important reasons why shorten your Affiliate Link:

    1. To hide the main web address.  Your default Affiliate Link shows the core web address where, if your prospect will prefer, can just type it in without your Tracking Script (instead of clicking it). This is called, “by-passing.” As you already know, without your Tracking Script when they visit AimGlobalProducts.com site, it can be impossible to associate you as the referrer of the resulting sale. 
    2. To fit it in your offline campaigns. Your default Affiliate Links can be quite  long for a particular strategy that you’d want to do. For example, your default Affiliate Link is too long to be printed on your business card, flyers, posters and bumper stickers. Besides, you can’t really  expect your prospects to type all the characters of your Affiliate Link  just to see the details of your offer.
    3. To make it easier to remember. In case your prospects lose your business card, you’d like them to still remember how to get to your offer.
    4. So you can track clicks. There are URL Shortener services over the net that also allow you to see how many clicks your offer is getting. This feature will make way for you to do split testing, where you have 2 or more campaign formats for a particular offer, and identify which campaign is the most effective one.

    There are basically 2 options to shorten your Affiliate Links:

    1. By purchasing your own domain name
    2. By using a free URL shortener service

    Method 1:  By Purchasing Your own Domain Name

    You can buy a domain name from a domain name registrar, such as Namecheap.com, and have your domain name point/forward to the Affiliate Link of your choice. For example, I have purchased the domain name www.AimGlobalPower.com and have it point to my affiliate link for the Main capture page.

    Since it’s a top domain name, it also looks more professional –and short enough to fit as car bumper sticker!

Most URL Shortener Service out there provide you the basic service for free, with the option of paying premiums for additional features, like click tracking or link branding.     The “Affiliate Tracking” page is where you can create or generate your Affiliate Links. As you may already know, an Affiliate Link is a web address that include your Tracking Script and is pointing to a specific page or product inside AimGlobalProducts.com website so you can earn sales commissions.

    The first section that you will find inside your Tracking Page is your Tracking Information which shows your Affiliate ID and your Tracking Script.

    How to Create Your Affiliate Links

    What is an Affiliate Link?

    An Affiliate Link is essentially a web address (pointing to any page within AimGlobalProducts.com) that you want people to visit, and because your Affiliate Link includes your Tracking Script, which identifies you as the referrer, the Affiliate Program can associate you to the resulting sales so you can earn due commissions.

    Parts of an Affiliate Link

    An Affiliate Link is not as such without being complete of  its parts. So when it’s not a complete Affiliate Link, it’s impossible for the Affiliate Program to associate you to the resulting sales, therefore you will not earn any due commission.

    So make sure your Affiliate Link is complete of it’s parts!

    There are basically 2 parts that makes up an Affiliate Link:

    1. Core Web Address URL – is a web address pointing to any page within AimGlobalProducts.com. It is where you want people to visit. It can be a product page or an article page (as in the example above). Preferably, you want to point people to a page where there is an Optin Form, or leading to it, so that the email addresses of  your prospects can be captured for automatic follow-up messages. 
    2. Your Tracking Script – is actually a computer command (starts with “?tracking=“) that tells the browser of your prospects to put a piece of information (a cookie) in their viewing devices (i.e. smart phone, tablet, computer) so that it can be fetched later in the event of a resulting sale.
      Looking at the example above, the Tracking Script is “?tracking=mYaFFc0d3“. If we translate this to a human language it says, “Hey! There is a cookie named ‘tracking’ and its value is mYaFFc0d3“. Being informed of this, the device of your prospect will store a cookie within it’s memory, naming it as “tracking” and will designate a value equal to “mYaFFc0d3”. Once stored, it can be fetched for later use by AimGlobalProducts.com (the website) for associating an eventual sale from that device.
      As you may already notice, the value “mYaFFc0d3” is actually an Affiliate ID. Your own Affiliate ID is of course different from our example here. The website will use this Affiliate ID to identify the Affiliate who will get paid commission from the associated successful sales.

    Creating your Affiliate Links is very simple. It only include 2 steps and a few sub-steps.

    Step 1: Copy Your Tracking Script

    A Tracking Script is actually a piece of code that you will need to add at the end of the web address URL that you will share to people. Without this Tracking Script, it’s impossible to associate you to any resulting sale.

    Here are the steps to copy your Tracking Script:

    1. Login to your Affiliate account at https://aimglobalproducts.com.
    2. Scroll down the page, under the “Affiliate” section, find and click the link: “Affiliate Tracking” .
    3. Let’s say for this tutorial, your Tracking Script is: ?tracking=mYaFFc0d3. Right-click on your Tracking Script.
    4. Choose “Copy” option. Your Tracking Script is going to be pasted in the next step to create your Affiliate Link.

    Step 2: Create Your Affiliate Link

    The steps here include (1) choosing a page within AimGlobalProducts.com website that you would like to share, (2) get it’s web address URL so you can (3) append your Tracking Script (making it as your Affiliate Link), and then (4) copy it as a whole so you can paste it for sharing, on social networks like Facebook.

    Here are the steps to create your Affiliate Link:

    1. Find an article here (this website) that you will want to share, and see its web address URL in the browser bar.
      For example, the article “The AIMGLOBAL Phenomenon” is at web address URL:

    2. Complete your Affiliate Link by pasting your Affiliate Script at the end of the web address URL. You do this by doing a right-click at the end of the web address URL and choosing “Paste“. So in the example web address URL above, your complete Affiliate Link would be: 
      https://aimglobalproducts.com/articles/who-is-aimglobal/?tracking=mYaFFc0d3
    3. Highlight your complete Affiliate Link URL. You can do this by right-click and choosing “Select All“
    4. Right-click (again) your complete Affiliate Link URL and choose “Copy” so that you can just paste it for the next steps, instead of typing it.

     

    How to Make Sure Your Affiliate Links will Work!

    Your online sales commissions relies heavily on your Affiliate Links, therefore you should make sure that your Affiliate Links are actually correct and valid. It’s really silly if you will be careless in creating your Affiliate Links and not make sure it works, because you could be just wasting your time and effort unnecessarily.

    So here are important rules that you should follow to make sure that Your Affiliate Links will work:

    1. Make sure that there are no spaces in your Affiliate Links.
      For example:

      This will not work:
https://aimglobalproducts.com/articles/who-is-aimglobal/ ?tracking=mYaFFc0d3
      This will work:
https://aimglobalproducts.com/articles/who-is-aimglobal/?tracking=mYaFFc0d3
    2. Make sure that there are no repeating “?“ in your Affiliate Links. If there is already an existing “?” in the Core Web Address URL, you should replace the “?” in your Tracking Script with “&“.
      For example:

      This will not work:
https://aimglobalproducts.com/index.php?route=common/home?tracking=mYaFFc0d3
      This will work:
https://aimglobalproducts.com/index.php?route=common/home&tracking=mYaFFc0d3
    3. Make sure your Tracking Script is always ahead of “#“ in your Affiliate Links. If there is an existing “#” in the Core Web Address URL, you should paste your Tracking Script in front of it.
      For example:

      This will not work:
https://aimglobalproducts.com/articles/agpap-tutorials/#lessons?tracking=mYaFFc0d3
      This will work:
https://aimglobalproducts.com/articles/agpap-tutorials/?tracking=mYaFFc0d3#lessons
    4. Make sure your Core Web Address URL is only from AimGlobalProducts.com website. Your Tracking Script is not a property of other websites, therefore they cannot store a cookie on behalf of AimGlobalProducts.com website.
      For example:

      This will not work:
https://www.facebook.com/aimglobalproducts?tracking=mYaFFc0d3
      This will work:
https://aimglobalproducts.com/articles/?tracking=mYaFFc0d3

    Test Your Affiliate Link!
    Before posting your Affiliate Link you should try it first. If you get a “404 Page Not Found” error then your Affiliate Link has an error and should be corrected immediately.

    3. Change your password – is where you can modify your existing password.

    5. Customer Account – is where you can go back to your Customer Account dashboard.
    6. Custom Affiliate Tracking Code – or simply called “Affiliate Tracking,” is where you can create your Affiliate Links.
    7. View your transaction history – is where you can view the transaction history related to your earned commissions. It is also where you can transfer your Affiliate Earnings to your Customer Account so you can use the money to buy products from the eShop.
